Siemens Panels

Siemens panels feature the patented Insta-Wire connection system for faster, more reliable installation, generous wire bending space exceeding NEC requirements, and the PL series offers copper bus bars at a price point below Square D QO. Siemens is also the only manufacturer offering a 3-year standard warranty on power panels. German engineering standards mean tight tolerances and consistent quality.

ES is the standard series with aluminum bus bars and a 10-year warranty. PL is the premium series with copper bus bars, pre-installed ground bars, and a lifetime warranty. PL also offers higher short circuit current ratings (up to 100kA) for demanding applications. For most residential upgrades, we recommend the PL series for its copper construction and lifetime warranty.

Yes. Siemens acquired ITE (Imperial Tube and Electric) in 1983. Modern Siemens breakers are designed to be compatible with older ITE panels. If you have an ITE panel in good condition, we can often add circuits using Siemens breakers without full panel replacement.

Both are excellent premium options. Square D QO has the fastest trip time (1/60th second) and the Visi-Trip indicator. Siemens PL offers copper bus bars and a lifetime warranty at a slightly lower price point (typically 15-25% less than QO). Many electricians use Siemens almost exclusively due to the value-to-quality ratio. For most applications, either brand is an excellent choice.

AFCI breakers from all manufacturers can experience nuisance trips, but many electricians report Siemens AFCI breakers trip less frequently on legitimate loads. Siemens AFCI breakers also feature LED diagnostic indicators that simplify troubleshooting when trips do occur. This can reduce callbacks and customer frustration.
